Background information, content
"Behind the exhibition title 'From Miami to Malibu' was the 2005 retrospective on photographic artist Douglas Isaac BUSCH. From his first rough and direct works in the genre of street photography ('Cruising Miami' and 'State Fair', 1972) to grandiose architectural and landscape photography to 'Waves' from 2004, the viewer is offered an unusual portrait of the American continent, its landscapes and people. The path of the American photo artist leads from the realistic depiction of his surroundings, as in 'Tattoo People', which he photographs radically and directly, to 'Waves', a completely new chapter in his work. Here the world is reduced to the power of colors and leaves the field of photography in its impression. With texts in German/English by Thomas Schirmböck and Tim B. Wride."
