Background information
"This black-and-white photo volume, 'Versuch der Rekonstruktion einer vergangenen Zeit. Photographisch. 1967-1982' (Attempt to reconstruct a bygone era)' presents for the first time photographs by Swedish free jazz pioneer Sven-Åke JOHANSSON taken during his concert tours in the 1960s and 1970s. Autobiographical and historical moments combine to create a subtle artistic self-location. As in his music, Sven-Ake JOHANSSON brings seemingly insignificant things or situations into focus and elicits unexpected poetic dimensions from them.
Content
The photo book 'Versuch der Rekonstruktion einer vergangenen Zeit. Photographic. 1967-1982' by Sven-Ake JOHANSSON contains cityscapes and landscapes, snapshots from everyday life, as well as portraits of friends, fellow musicians and family. As if casually noted, they give an insight into an artist's life 'on the road'. The book's black-and-white photographs condense into an inventory of a 'bygone (analog) era' that is as personal as it is laconic." (© Verlag der Buchhandlung König, 2021)
