About the American photographer, Dash SNOW (1981-2009)

Dash SNOW was an American artist known for his photography, collages and sculptural installations. He came from a dynasty of patrons, from which he turned away at an early age to live on the streets as a teenager. His Polaroid photographs taken in the New York underground, along with his work in the graffiti scene, are considered the beginning of his career as an artist. The very spontaneous-looking photographs show primarily young people having sex, consuming drugs, or as participants in lustfully staged orgies of violence in public spaces. As an important figure of the Bowery School from New York's Lower East Side, the Wall Street Journal listed his work in a list for promising investments in the art market. Outside the United States, he exhibited primarily in Berlin. Dash SNOW died of a heroin overdose at Lafayette House, in Manhattan.

Photo volumes by and on the work by Dash SNOW

'Polaroids' (2009); 'I love you stupid' (2013); 'Selected works from 2001 to 2009' (2020)

'I love you stupid' illustrates the fast life of young deceased artist Dash SNOW and his importance for the New York scene. The abundance of material as well as the 'appearances' of many people of the scene make this volume a document of US youth culture.
