About the photographer, Otto SNOEK

Otto SNOEK lives and works in his home town Rotterdam. As his final project at the St. Joost Academy in Breda he documented a poor and desperate country. During this travel period he laid the foundation for his further career as a photographer. Over the years he became fascinated by public spaces that function as hubs like squares and shopping malls. He calls them social centrifuges and turntables in which everything and everyone seems to gather. They are places where groupings with their own codes come together and where it is logical that friction and tensions arise between individuals and groups.
