Signed photobooks

By chance, Mark POWER was present at the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. To mark the 25th anniversary, he self-published his photo volume 'Die Mauer ist Weg!' (The wall is away) which corresponds to a newspaper that he bought in Berlin the morning after.

In out-of-print book 'A Clearing', Raymond MEEKS documents the stark geological & human assertion of presence against the flattening insistence of time, erosion & poverty. The figures in the landscape appear so isolated that they take on a mythical power.

'Post script' by Laura EL-TANTAWY, designed by Sybren KUIPER in accordeon format, contains previously unpublished images & written reflections in which she takes the reader behind the images and into the thoughts and emotions that led to their creation.

The volume 'World Is Where You Stop' by Tomasz TOMASZEWSKI looks critically at our reality, where good & evil, euphoria & suffering, wealth & poverty, virtue & licentiousness, coexist side by side - situations that are difficult to pass by indifferently.

'Eternal U' by Hubert HUMKA - 3rd part of his book trilogy, together with 'Eden (2014) and 'Death Landscapes' (2018) - is about death and eternity. It's main axis are forest photographs (life), negatives (death) and embossed texts (traces we leave behind)

'Pharmakon' by Teju COLE combines subtle photos with a dozen short stories. The images were taken around the globe, expanding the oblique perspective he developed in 'Fernweh'. The interspersed images & texts act as intimate signals in our age of crisis.

In out-of-print volume 'Trona. Armpit of America' by Tobias ZIELONY, self-staging of the protagonists plays an important role. Through the intensive contact between him and them, relationships develop that make the subjects less shy in front of the camera

For his out-of-print book 'Behind the Block', Tobias ZIELONY visited the peripheries of modern cities such as Halle, Marseille & Bristol to explore the youth culture there in 'subcultural melting pots' and special zones of urban civilization at eye level.

This volume contains works by German photographer Tobias ZIELONY, winner of the Marion Ermer Prize 2004. The images were made between 1999 and 2003 in Bristol/Newport, Halle & Marseille and already published in his photographi volume 'Behind the Block'.

The out-of-print double volume 'Talents 06' contains the photo series 'The Cast' by Tobias ZIELONY as well as the text contribution 'I love America. On the adaptation of reality in the photographs of Tobias Zielony' by Jutta von Zitzewitz.
