About the photographer, Jörg SASSE (* 1962 in Bad Salzuflen)
Jörg SASSE is a German photographer and visual artist. He studied as a master student with Bernd BECHER at the Academy of Arts Düsseldorf. Not a photographer in the traditional sense, photographs of others from very different and coincidental sources such as photo albums and flea markets serve him as templates, which serve as the basis for new pictures. The result is pictures whose origin is often no longer recognizable. He usually generates the titles of the pictures as four-digit combinations of numbers, so that references to the objects of the photograph used are just as absent as to an intended, new object.
