About the Finnish photographer, Pentti SAMMALLAHTI (b. 1950, in Helsinki)

Pentti SAMMALLAHTI joined the Helsinki Camera Club as a student. From 1970-73 he was also the head of Matti A. PITKÄNEN's B/W & color laboratory. From 1974-76 he taught photography at the Lahti School of Art, and from 1984-1991 he taught printing techniques at the School of Art and Design. Numerous photographic trips have taken him to places such as Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. In 1989, together with Kristoffer ALBRECHT, he went to China & Japan. Pentti SAMMALLAHTI photographs in black & white, often with a panoramic camera.
