About the German photographer, Albert RENGER-PATZSCH (1897-1966)

Albert RENGER-PATZSCH war Fotograf der sogenannten Neuen Sachlichkeit. Ab 1925 war die Industriefotografie sein Schwerpunkt. Nach Kriegsende widmete sich der Naturfotografie. Sein 1928 erschienenes Werk 'Die Welt ist schön' wurde zur Grundlage der modernen Fotografie. Er wandte sich gegen das Verwenden fotografischer Effekte, wie es in der Fotografie am Bauhaus, im Piktorialismus und im Surrealismus praktiziert wurde. 1960 erhielt er den Kulturpreis der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie.
