About the British photographer, Mark POWER (b. 1959)

Nach seinem Abschluss in Kunst reiste Mark POWER zwei Jahre lang durch Südostasien und Australien. Auf Reisen stellte er fest, dass er gerne mehr als einen Bleistift mit einer Kamera benutzte und beschloss, zwei Jahre später, 1983, nach seiner Rückkehr nach England Fotograf zu werden. Von 1992 bis 2017 unterrichtete er zunächst an der University of Brighton Als Senior Lecturer und dann als Professor für Fotografie - eine Position, die er innehatte, bis er 2017 seine Ausbildung endgültig verließ. Er kam 2002 als Nominee zu Magnum Photos und wurde 2007 Vollmitglied. Mark POWER lebt in Brighton, einer Stadt an der Südküste Englands. Bis heute hat er elf Fotobände veröffentlicht.

By chance, Mark POWER was present at the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. To mark the 25th anniversary, he self-published his photo volume 'Die Mauer ist Weg!' (The wall is away) which corresponds to a newspaper that he bought in Berlin the morning after.
