About Russian photographer Igor POSNER (b. in Leningrad / St. Petersburg)

Igor POSNER is a Brooklyn-based Russian photographer who emigrated from former USSR in the early 1990s. He studied molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he first started to take pictures and experiment in the darkroom. The result are collision of social and typical with personal and psychological in his first series of images.
After 14 years (2006), he returned to St. Petersburg, taking up photography full time, which led to a book project entitled 'Past Perfect Continuous'. In 2022, he publishes his second monograph, entitled, 'Cargó', a visual exloration of psychological aspects of migration and gradual disappearance of neighborhoods based on  immigrant communities in North America.
