About Japanese photographer, Kohey KANNO (b. 1982)

Kohey KANNO was nominated for the FOIL AWARD in 2004. Worked in New York City from 2008 until 2016. Recipient of both Charlotte Cotton Award and the Bruno Ceschel award at the JAPAN PHOTO AWARD 2016. He has published six photo publications to date.

The images in out-of-print book 'Honeymoon' by Kohey KANNO were taken on Saipan, a former Japanese island that has been owned by the USA since 1944. Perhaps they are so bleak because they depicted the scene of the crime and the place had not been cleaned.
