About German photographer, Malte WANDEL (b. 1982)

Malte WANDEL studied at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund from 2004 to 2010, followed by study visits to Zurich (2007/08) and the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (2011-14). His multimedia installation 'Sarah, Miguel and Jamal' about descendants of Mozambican GDR contract workers is part of the photographic collection of the Museum Folkwang in Essen. His artist book 'Unity, Work, Vigilance - The GDR in Mozambique' won the German Photo Book Award in 2013. In 2018 he founded the independent art space fructa space together with Quirin Brunnmeier. Malte WANDEL lives and works as a freelance artist in Munich.
