About the British-Chinese photographer, Yan Wang PRESTON

Yan Wang PRESTON studied clinical medicine and worked for three years in Shanghai. Moving to the UK in 2005 with her husband, who’s British, she decided it was time for career change. She completed an MA in photography at Bradford college, going on with a PhD. She first started photographing trees in 2010, initially without a project in mind. Hoping to complete a more in-depth publication than a work-in-progress book version, Yan Wang PRESTON applied for the Syngenta Photography Award in 2017 and she won this award as well as the 2019 Sony World Photography Award. Until today she published two photography books and one artist book of loose postcards so far.
