About Hungarian Magnum photographer Robert CAPA (1913-1954)

Robert CAPA (actually Endre Ernő Friedmann, 1913-1954) was a Hungarian-American photographer. He was best known as a war reporter; many of his recordings - of the Spanish Civil War or the landing of the Allied forces on Normandy Beach (on D-Day in World War II) - became world famous.
