About the photographer, Victor BURGIN (b.1941 in Sheffield)

Victor BURGIN is a British artist and co-founder of the Conceptual Art of the 1960s. He studied art in London from 1962 to 1965 before graduating with a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University in the USA in 1967. He lives and works in San Francisco and works with photography & film. His work is strongly influenced by various theorists and philosophers, especially Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, Michel Foucault and Roland Barthes.
