Background information
"The family has been a constant subject of photographic contemplation since the invention of photography, both in private photo albums and in artistic series. The group exhibition created by Ingo Taubhorn, curator of the Haus der Photographie, 'Family Affairs. Family in Contemporary Photography' examines the current state of the tradition-rich genre. A transcontinental selection of artistic projects from the last decade reveals the diversity of photographic approaches as well as the variety of family models and complex dynamics.
Content
Accompanying the exhibition of the same name, the catalog volume 'Family Affairs' presents a wide variety of series and groups of works and contextualizes the positions through extensive essays on various themes of the family in photography, film, and society." (© Kehrer Verlag, 2021)
