About the photo compendium
"The Schaubühne Berlin is one of the leading German-language theaters in Germany and abroad, and six internationally renowned photographers of our time have grappled artistically with the Schaubühne ensemble. Juergen TELLER started in 2013, and in the following years Ute and Werner MAHLER, Pari DUKOVIC, Brigitte LACOMBE and Paolo PELLEGRIN portrayed the acting ensemble.
Content
The respective photo posters marked the cityscape of Berlin as an urban exhibition and can now be seen together in this volume for the first time. The different photographers' handwritings - whether unadorned spontaneously, poppily staged, strictly formal, purist or psychologically contemplative - show the different facets of the actors and also how the photographer's gaze shapes the portrayed ones. An artistic and contemporary documentary work." (publisher's note, © Kerber verlag, 2018)
