Even her early works for the East German fashion magazine 'Sibylle' acted as a beacon in the socialist uniform gray. Her later portraits, reportages and travel images, mostly captured in color, continued to focus on realities of life and were reproduced in leading magazines worldwide.Content
The photographs in the out-of-print photo volume 'The Polaroids' by Sibylle BERGEMANN occupy a very special, private place. On them she captured what basically cannot be captured - the beautiful moment that may not linger. The result is dreamlike and delicate images against oblivion, which elude temporal and spatial classification.
