Background information
"A little late, partly due to the coronavirus, Daido MORIYAMA's 'Record No. 44' was just being completed. When people were told to stay inside, I spent about two days vegging at home while the whole world started Talking about "teleworking" It occurred to me that what I do for a living is likely to be called "footwork." So I grabbed my camera and - very reluctantly - my face mask, jumped on a bus and then on took a train and wandered day in and day out through Nakano and other stations on the Chuo Line. Of course, there were few people on the streets and most of the shops had their shutters closed, so strolling through these landscapes felt like walking through open movie sets This had a special attraction in itself, so I clicked on as usual, and it became clear to me from my careful observations that the whole world t whenever something big happens, it is as easy as turning a handle upside down. Since I usually do my photoshoots while mingling with the city crowds, I didn't experience all of this without a somewhat unsatisfactory sense of confusion at first, but soon the photographer inside me jumped up and explained that it was okay was, and that I was supposed to hold onto these things too, so in a way my mind was turned around too. I think this is how I reacted to this hint of anomaly that had crept into my daily life.
