Background information
"This monograph, 'Une Intime Distance', explores the work of American photographer Nicholas NIXON, offering a cross-section of his work through the lens of intimacy. This book will be published on the occasion of the artist's exhibition at the Château d'Eau, in Toulouse, France.
Content
At the heart of the book will be the emblematic Brown Sisters series, four sisters he has photographed for over 45 years and which will be brought together in its entirety for the first time in a publication. Around this body of work, various unpublished series will be organized with more emblematic images that will allow us to rediscover this prolific artist: from industrial landscapes to his portraits of rural Southern families, from the daily life of his wife to very close-up shots of faces."
