About the Japanese photographer, Toshiya MURAKOSHI (b. 1980, in Sukagawa, Fukushima)

Toshiya MURAKOSHI graduated from the Nippon Photography Institute in 2003. In 2006, he documented his hometown, continuously producing serene yet powerful landscape images that trace his memories of his time in his hometown. In 2009, he founded the gallery 'TAP' in Tokyo. In 2011, he received de 'Newcomer's Award' from the Photographic Society of Japan as well as the 'Sagamihara Photographer New Face Incentive Award' (2015). His works can be found in both the National Museum of Modern Art Tokyo and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He has published three volumes of photographs to date. Toshiya MURAKOSHI is currently based in Tokyo.
