Statement by the photographer, Florian MÜLLER
"Most of the sessions are frighteningly harmless. What unites the persons whose stories can be seen in my pictures is the search for meaning in basic human needs such as freedom, warmth and security, maybe even happiness." (© Florian MÜLLER)
Background information
"You have to imagine the desires of man as a sea of colorful marbles,
impossible to count them all, and you always find one that you did not
know yet." (A Session participant)
"The photographer Florian MÜLLER takes us in his photo book 'Sessions Fetish in Germany' on a journey across Germany and comes to the very heart, the urge to desires and human needs. The general picture of fetishistic sexuality is characterized by violent fantasies, lacquer and leather. However, the variety is far greater. Florian MÜLLER's pictures are black and white only at first glance. If you look closely, you will notice shades of gray, shades. For several years he worked on the so-called 'Candy Crush Project', an extraordinary photographic work on fetishism in Germany. Florain MÜLLER met with people who are often considered 'perverse' in society. The persons in this book do not want to be insulted or socially stigmatized as patients. They simply found a more fulfilling life through their fetish, some say 'to themselves.' Sometimes it took weeks before they trusted him and shared in their so-called sessions, their sexual games. Florian MÜLLER didn't abuse her trust. He took people seriously in front of his camera, did not use clichés. His pictures are not repulsive, but close, almost tender. As the dominatrix hugs her guest. How a early retiree finds fulfillment in the vacuum bed. Like a man who likes to slip into the role of a horse, suddenly becomes quite calm."
