MORIYAMA, Daido - Another Country in New York

Background information

"The Facsimile edition of the legendary xerox book by Daido MORIYAMA, with photographs taken during his 1971 trip to New York, individually assembled into books on a rented Canon photocopier in a nondescript storefront rather than a gallery, almost as performance art,  with silkscreen covers in two variants. No two copies are identical and fewer than 100 were assembled.

Here offered copy of 'Another Country in New York' is SIGNED. A rare example, possibly unique, with both silkscreens used:

• a) the 'American Flag' motif on the front or
  b) and the airplane design on the cover.

Area of loss at the top of the spine, chip to the cover at the spine heel, internally fine with a nice, almost varnished tonality (some examples are blotchy); a good copy in silkscreened wrappers of one of the great Japanese rarities, and a highspot of the photocopy machine as a conduit for art."
