About the photographer, László MOHOLY-NAGY
László MOHOLY-NAGY (1895 - 1946) was a teacher at the Bauhaus from 1923 to 1928. He dealt with nonrepresentational painting. In the 1920s, he was one of the most important photogram artists and worked out the theoretical and experimental basis for establishing this then new art genre. His work with light shaped his interest in the new technical media of photography and film in equal measure. In 1925, his programmatic reflections on this topic were published in the bauhaus book series under the title 'Malerei Fotografie Film' (Painting Photography Film).
