Background information
The fall of the Berlin Wall happened at intervals in the city of Berlin. This photo volume, 'Standing by the Wall. Berlin 1990' by Josef Wolfgang MAYER, is showing one interval: the summer of 1990 when there was often leftovers next to freshly tarred openings. These color photographs between the two sides of the Berlin Wall transport the viewer back to the time between those days.
Content
The photographs in this photo volume, 'Standing by the Wall. Berlin 1990' by Josef Wolfgang MAYER, were taken as triptychs. The photo book 'Standing by the Wall - Berlin 1990' follows this principle and consists exclusively of fold-out pages that expand the individual image into a panorama. In some of the recordings, the dangers that once emanated from this place can still be felt. At the same time, new crossings will be created and previously separate streets will be reconnected.
