About the photographer Aglaia KONRAD (*1960 in Salzburg)

Aglaia KONRAD is an Austrian-Belgian photographer who lives and works in Brussels. She studied in Maastricht from 1990 to 1992. There she taught until she was appointed to the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. Since 2005 she has been a visiting professor in Leipzig.
Aglaia KONRAD makes images of urban spaces in a globalized world. Her photographic works and videos focus on the urban development of world cities on the five continents. She has created a huge archive from images taken in cities as diverse as Sao Paulo, Beijing, Chicago, Dakar, Tokyo, Cairo and Shanghai, which serves as the basis for her exhibitions.
