About the German photographer, Axel HÜTTE (*1951 in Essen).

Axel HÜTTE studied from 1973 to 1981 in the photo class at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf with Bernd BECHER. He works as a freelance photographer. In addition to clearly documentary works, since the late 1990s he has also turned to more painterly subjects. He reflects on the mimetic possibilities of photography. The question of his photographic work is not the exact image of reality by means of the camera, but the reflection of the relationship between image and imagination. Axel HÜTTE lives and works in Düsseldorf.
