About the German photographer Heinz HELD (1918-1990)

Heinz HELD was a photographer and writer and an intimate connoisseur of Cologne, its people and its history, its buildings and its economy, its art and its everyday life. Long journeys sharpened his view especially for his own city and its magic from the ruins of the post-war period to the end of the economic miracle. His archive was acquired in 1990 by the City of Cologne for the Museum Ludwig.
