About the German photographer, Jürgen HEINEMANN (b. 1934, in Osnabrück)
Jürgen
HEINEMANN studied photography with Otto STEINERT in Saarbrücken and
later at the Folkwangschule in Essen (1957-1962). He worked as a
successful freelance photographer for magazines and organizations for
more than thirty years. His work was honoured by the 'World Press Award'
(1963) and 'Concorso Internazionale di Fotografia di Assisi' (1965).
From 1981 until 1999 he had a professorship at the technical college in
Bielefeld where he ran the department of photojournalism.
