About the Austrian photographer, Robert HAAS (1898-1997)
The work of the Austrian-American photographer Robert HAAS covers many themes and combines the view of two continents. He began his artistic career in the circle of Viennese Modernism in the 1920s. In the 1930s he established himself as an internationally successful photojournalist. After fleeing from the National Socialists in 1938, he found a new home in the USA. In addition to his work as a well-known graphic artist and printer in New York, he documented everyday American life in impressive photographs.
