About German photographer, F.C. GUNDLACH (1926-2021)

F.C. GUNDLACH, born in the Hessian village of Heinebach, first published reportages, theater and film reviews and specialized in fashion photography from 1953 with his work for 'Film und Frau'. He photographed for the magazines 'Constanze', 'Annabelle', 'Stern' and 'Quick'. In 1963 he received an exclusive contract with 'Brigitte'. Numerous location trips took him all over the world. He founded a company for photographer's supplies as well as the PPS Gallery, one of the first photo galleries in Germany. He also worked as a university lecturer and exhibition curator. In 2000, the F.C. Gundlach Foundation was established, and since 2003 he has been the founding director of the 'House of Photography' in the Deichtorhallen Hamburg. F.C. GUNDLACH passed away in 2021.
