Background information
"The photobook 'The Parallel State' by British photographer Guy MARTIN is the result of a multi-layered project that began as an investigation into the Turkish soap opera and film industry and evolved over the course of the project into a semi-fictional study of truth, reality and lies in Turkey today." (editor's free translation, © Gost books, 2018)Content
The photobook 'Parallel State' by Guy MARTIN consists of 135 full-page color photographs on a total of 240 pages, of which 160 pages are printed on Gardapat Kiara 150 gsm paper and 80 pages on a mixture of uncoated and glossy lightweight paper. (Coated paper allows ink to adhere to the surface, making colors deep and vibrant. Uncoated paper absorbs the ink, making the color dull and not as vibrant. The difference is slight, but still noticeable with light colors). The book is available in five different cover designs - French gatefold - shipped at random.
