"Deep in the Black Forest, in the Holzbachtal, lies the refugee accommodation H8, in which refugees were accommodated for over 20 years. The Holzbachtal is not a place, it is only a road, a stream, in the middle of the forest. The men have nothing to do there except wait, sleep, cook, and use their cell phones. For three years, Sibylle FENDT has regularly visited and portrayed the young men. For three years she waited with them and let time pass. For three years she sat with them behind closed curtains in their rooms, while the beautiful Black Forest landscape lay outside.Content
The photographic volume 'Holzbachtal, nothing, nothing' by Ostkreuz-photographer Sibylle FENDT contains color photographs as well as an 8-page text booklet, in which the conversation between janitor Roland and some of the residents is depicted in the local dialect (Baden-Swabian border area).
