Background information
"On November 20, 1969 Heinrich RIEBESEHL goes to the publishing house of the Neue Hannoversche Presse. He wants to take pictures in the elevator, focus the camera more or less hidden on those who are facing him. It is a fixed set of action, in which he goes: A small space of almost square floor plan, illuminated by cool ceiling lights, and a 35mm camera, equipped with wide-angle and cable release. The entire recording lasts 5 hours and 35 minutes and, as a result, represents a cross-section of all the social layers of the publishing house. A photographic moral portrait, which, like Walker EVANS in his famous New York subway series, addresses the conceptual task of photography, where the photographer retains control over the image."
