Background information
The photo book 'MK95' by Albrecht FUCHS shows the small, impulsive and initial series of photographs that Albrecht FUCHS took of Martin Kippenberger in the course of 1995. He accompanied him to Dawson City, to his studio or to the Black Forest and experienced, as he himself calls it, 'his lessons as a photographer'. This tremendous phenomenon Kippenberger, always and everywhere photographed, good for many outstanding pictorial ideas, spontaneous and witty, as some mistakenly think, rather knew his pictorial effect exactly and calculated it in order to tickle out the greatest possible fidelity to his idea in the photographers. This was not posing, and to the extent that Albrecht FUCHS was enthusiastic about this process, he achieved his independent as well as sensitive portrait style.
