For his photobook compendium 'Canon. On African Photobooks', Johannes Wohnseifer selected titles from his private collection that focus on the African continent. These photobooks, published between 1948 and 2011, are presented here in chronological order.

The catalog accompanies the exhibition SUBJECT AND OBJECT. PHOTO RHINE RUHR and contains many illustrations, current texts and photo-historically significant articles. It examines relationships between different photographic positions that have developed.

For the first time, the author, M.Stoll, outlines a theory of the photo book as a school of vision, based on the theoretical, media-specific, political and artistic context of the photo books '60 Fotos' by Aenne BIERMANN and 'Das Watt' by Alfred EHRHARDT.

The two-volume publication presents insights into the early work of Robert ADAMS as well as a previously unpublished text on his perception of modern sacred architecture - in the context of the buildings of the friendly German architect Rudolf Schwarz.

In out-of-print book 'Fairy Tales', Ute BEHREND tells stories of girls & young women, everyday objects & houseplants, forests & lakes. From never posed images, she puts together couples that only at first glance seem to have nothing to do with each other.

German photographer In the photo book '4100 Duisburg' you can see how the photographer Laurenz BERGEual language of silence and light that captures the visible present of places over which history seems to have passed as well as the echoes of former life.

The series from 1989 is the artist's first conceptual work in which he grapples with his hometown. In keeping with the tradition of the BECHER school, his photographs show a sober documentary and sometimes humorous view of the small town in Lower Saxony.

'SX-70. 1975-2000 'by Anna & Bernhard BLUME contains around 240 Polaroids. Four texts by the couple themselves introduce the individual groups of works, they interpret the works from various perspectives and incorporate the work in terms of art history.

In 'Book Manifest' Irma BOOM presents her vision of the nature, meaning nad relevance of the book. Based on more than 350 of her books, she shares her knowledge gained from intensive research and discusses context and relationship to the traditional book.

This book, 'Executive. From Poll to Presidency', records two projects from Thomas DEMAND, 'Embassy' (2007) and 'Presidency' (2008). For both series, he used images of an embassy interior & the 'Oval Office' at the White House, and reconstructed the rooms.

Out-of-print catalog volume, 'Rineke DIJKSTRA. Wo Men' was published to coincide with the exhibition and award ceremony of the Hasselblad Award 2017. It was designed by the Dutch (photo) book designer Irma BOOM, who has won several awards for her work.

The volume 'Labor Anonymous' is the first to dedicate itself to a series that Walker EVANS published in a magazine under the same title in 1946: Passers-by, mostly workers, in Detroit - photographed in the 'documentary' style typical of this photographer.

'Facing Britain', contains the most comprehensive show of work to date on British documentary photography, which is famous for its socio-political themes such as unemployment, migration, racism, consumer society, gender justice and warlike conflicts.

In 'Voyeur 6', Hans-Peter FELDMANN's carefully composed sequencing and design invites you to interpret the photos as a narrative - a photo book as a comic strip. Including celebrities like Mohammed Ali, Isabella Rossellini or Henry Miller.

The out-of-print photo book 'Apophenia' by Lukas FELZMANN is a combination of two archives: one of postcards sent to the artist's father and another with unpublished works by the artist. The juxtaposition leads to a surprising sequence of vertical images.

'Aus der Ferne: Bilder der DDR' (From far away. Images of the GDR) is about dealing with the visual heritage, about hidden bodies of knowledge & multiple meanings, as well as the specific contexts in which the photos were taken, and how to deal with them.

Out-of-print book 'Autos' by Bernhard FUCHS gives the photographs the apparent character of general pictorial plates, but on closer inspection they reveal themselves to be sensitive recordings of everyday situations and individual portraits of vehicles.

The photo volume 'Fathom' ('Lot' in the German version) by Bernhard FUCHS contains full-paged portraits. Once again we feel the prevailing atmosphere of closeness and distance, which is unique to him, was already visible and tangible in his other series.

The volume 'Höfe' by Bernhard FUCHS shows farms in the area around Helfenberg (Austria) that have been passed down from generation to generation. They are scattered in the hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel, where the climate is harsh and the soil barren.

The images in the volume 'Mühl' by Bernhard FUCHS, taken between 2014 and 2019 in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria, show nature details on long walks. Colors and different angles of view give the seemingly small and inconspicuous its great significance.

The out-of-print photo volume 'Streets and Trails' by Bernhard FUCHS contains seventeen full-page color illustrations. The photographs by formerly Bernd-BECHER-student show quiet, deserted streets and trails in rural surroundings. Limited to 500 copies.

The photographic volume 'Waldungen' by Austrian photographer Bernhard FUCHS contains fifty landscape photographs taken in the 2010s in his home country, which he had left in the 1990s to study with Bernd BECHER at the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie.

The volume 'Gedruckt und erblättert' deals about the photobook as a medium of aestethic articulation and contains recent contributions from art scholars on the subject, discussing the photobook as a cultural-historical, social as well as political medium.

Facsimile of the first book by GILBERT & GEORGE, first published in 1971. 'Side by Side' it is a proclamation of their view of life and art in the form of poetic texts & pictures. The envelope was marbled by hand and every book is numbered and signed.
