About the book project for the 25th anniversary catalog volume
What role does aging play in our society? How do we deal with older people? These questions are not only important for each individual, but also of great societal and ethical relevance - worldwide in all societies. Against the background of the international corona pandemic, the topic of age is all the more explosive.
25 years ago, the choreographer, performance and installation artist Angie HIESL made aging in our society the subject of an artistic intervention in public space and created a project called 'x-mal Mensch Stuhl', which is since then performed in 16 countries in Europe, North and South America has been.

On the occasion of the photo exhibition in Cologne, which will take place from September 17, 2020 to January 31, 2021, this catalog will be published, in which the photographer Roland KAISER photographically documented this project since its premiere in Cologne in 1995 as well as the worldwide guest performances. These photographs are reproduced in the catalog volume.
About the artist, Angie HIESL and the photographer, Roland KAISER
The choreographer, performance and installation artist Angie HIESL has been presenting her interdisciplinary projects since the 1980s, always and exclusively in 'non-art' locations in private and public urban spaces. Since 1997 she has been realizing her artistic projects together with the director, choreographer and visual artist Roland KAISER. The multiple award-winning works are shown worldwide.
