Background information
"For over 40 years now, Ragnar AXELSSON has photographed people, animals and landscapes in the remotest regions of Greenland, Iceland and Siberia. In simple black and white images, he captures the elemental human experience in nature at the edge of the habitable world. In doing so, he makes visible the extraordinary relationships between people, animals, and places in the Arctic and their extreme environment - relationships that are changing in profound and complex ways due to unprecedented climate change.
