Background information
"Fred JAEGER lived and worked as a freelance picture reporter in Cologne.Especially in the 1950s, he took pictures at social events and important events in his hometown. Fred JAEGER documented cinema premieres and the Catholic Day, fashion shows and sporting events, shot numerous celebrities and caught the hustle and bustle on the street. He captured wonderful carnival scenes as well as the atmosphere in the basement bars. He got spectacular views of the cathedral from a helicopter. Eva Neubert and Britta Schmitz viewed the photographer's archive of around 85,000 negatives, vintage and contacts.
