"Published to coincide with Archive of Modern Conflict's contribution to the exhibition 'Conflict, Time, Photography' (at Tate Modern, London), Amc2 journal Issue 11 (A Guide for the Protection of the Public in Peacetime) presents the landscapes of war as viewed by those co-opted, blighted, disrupted, demented, excited, uplifted, corrupted, dumbfounded and unbalanced by its process. It explores the psyche of conflict – from the primal tribalism of paint and feathers through the ideal of the chivalrous warrior to the scientific clinicality of triggers and switches.
Photographers include household names as well as many of the unremembered people whose captured moments carry us to the zone of discord." (publisher's note)
