AMC was founded in the early 1990s as an organization and independent publisher based in Holland Park, London. AMC maintains an archive of British war history material from the 19th & 20th centuries, mainly photographs, and uses it to create photo books.

The out-of-print volume 'Nein, Onkel: Snapshots From Another Front 1938-1945' contains snapshots of fun-loving, sexually inappropriate and work-shy elements of the German military machine, as well as the commonly accepted view of 'bad men in ankle boots'.
