The peroid 1965-1975 was marked by turbulence & transformation, also in the work of Japanese photograpers like Taiji ARITA, Eikoh HOSOE, Daido MORIYAMA, Masatoshi NAITO, Hajime SAWATARI, Issei SUDA, Yoshihiro TATSUKI, Shuji TERAYAMA and Katsumi WATANABE.

Stephen SHORE's out-of-print photo volume 'Winslow Arizona' includes a selection of images he presented during contemporary artist Doug Aitken's 'Station to Station' project, which filmed a trans-American journey by train.

In 1990 Hiroshi SUGIMOTO visited the seas of New Zealand. 'On the beach' contains a series of black and white photos showing rotting metal the sand. His text is about the nature of the sea and the unstoppable, practically incomprehensible passage of time.
