The photo book 'My Sylt. News from the archive of the island photographer' with works of the Sylt photographer Bleicke BLEICKEN represents a photographic journey into the past of Germany's most popular vacation island and contains unpublished treasures from his archive. The self-taught photographer - teacher, later mayor of Kampen, Sylt - has captured life on Sylt with his camera for decades like no other photographer. In the course of his artistic work, his fascination with nature increasingly came to the fore: the vast landscape, the dunes, the sea and the sky over Sylt were Bleicken's main motifs. Experimental close-ups with his Rolleiflex camera also gave him a new perspective on the island's flora and fauna.
The photo volume 'Sylt. Meine Insel' showed his black-and-white photographs by Bleicke BLEICKEN from the first half of the 20th century. The color pictures gathered here also awaken memories and longing and take us on a colorful journey through time to the 1950s and 1960s.
