"Already in her last publication to date, 'A Trilogy' (2017), Jessica BACKHAUS trod a path into abstraction, which she consistently continues here - using analog, photographic methods.
Content
For her last photo volume, 'Cuts outs', German photographer Jessica BACKHAUS documents visual experimental arrangements, poetic choreographies of intense colors in the sunlight. She arranges and stages compositions, e.g. transparent paper that reacts to the heat of intense sunlight, deforms, rises and casts shadows. The photographer becomes an astonished observer of processes over which she has only limited influence.

Stiff softcover with color edging. The photo volume 'Cut Outs' by Jessica BACKHAUS is published as an edition of 750 signed copies. On 128 pages are 50 color illustrations. The English texts are written by Katharina Scriba and the book design is made by Hannah FELDMEIER and Jessica BACKHAUS.
