About the photographer, Ilja Niederkirchner (b. 1980, East Berlin)

Ilja NIEDERKIRCHNER grew up within close proximity to the Berlin Wall. It was here, in the early stages of his life, that he witnessed a significant system change; an event that continues to impact his photographic work and character. In 2013 he began studying at 'Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin', graduating in 2017. His work lies between documentary and subjective fictional storytelling.
