Background information
"'My, what a country!' enthused Virginia Woolf, wondering why she didn't live in Cornwall, that mythical land at the end of the world washed by the Atlantic. A world that oscillates between hard and soft, between rugged edges, exuberant blossoms and barren fishing villages. The Danish photographer Joakim ESKILDSEN was also fascinated by this landscape, shaped by the sea, caressed by the fog, spoiled by the rain, exhilarated by the sun. Four times the Danish photographer traveled to Cornwall, and each time he returned with melancholic images that let us share in the imperishable magic of Land's End." (© Mare, 2019)

"Rather, Joakim ESKILDSEN let himself be drawn into a rain-drenched, melancholy landscape, into which the sun breaks through again and again and illuminates his pictures." (freely translated, © Schaufenster )
